About Tend VR
We believe that access to quality mental health care is a fundamental human right.
Our vision is a world without blame and stigma for those experiencing mental health challenges, where everyone can access the mental health support they need.

The Problem
We are living through a global mental health crisis: over 600 million people globally experience anxiety and depression every year, and current treatment options simply cannot deliver care at the scale needed.
In England alone, around 9 million people experience mental health problems annually, but only around 1.8 million are referred for treatment – of whom just 18% reliably recover. This means that millions of people don’t get the help they need.

Our Mission
Tend VR exists to deliver safe and effective mental health interventions at a fraction of the cost of traditional therapies.
Our mission is to put quality mental health care into the hands of everyone who needs it, helping individuals to recover and communities to flourish.
Our Solution
Tend VR’s evidence-based Virtual Reality Mindfulness-Based Intervention (Tend VR-MBI) has been developed to radically transform how we help people with common mental health problems.
We’ve adapted a well-established therapy for depression and anxiety and combined it with the immersive power of virtual reality, creating a highly effective programme that's accessible anytime, anywhere.
Through a comprehensive set of support materials, we provide the knowledge and the tools to enable Tend VR-MBI to be used confidently, safely and effectively.
Tend VR-MBI is backed by years of research, and our results speak for themselves. That’s why we are trusted by the NHS and Mind and many other voluntary sector organisations.
Evidence Based, Outcomes Focused
Our course Tend VR-MBI has been robustly researched, and shown to be clinically reliable in reducing anxiety and depression symptoms. Early data from real-world NHS settings have shown large improvements in key clinical outcomes, at a fraction of the cost of traditional therapies.
Engaging & Motivating
The immersive nature of Tend VR-MBI makes for a highly motivating experience. We see improved completion rates compared to many traditional therapies, with a wealth of positive user stories referencing the life-changing skills they’ve developed. One of our first NHS patients told the BBC “it had ‘transformed’ his life”.
Accessible Anywhere, At Any Time
Using a VR headset, Tend VR-MBI can be delivered at scale in the community or at home, making it accessible, flexible and highly affordable. As well as working with the NHS and other public health and voluntary sector partners, we are also making Tend VR-MBI available for direct purchase.
We received some really incredible feedback from service users about how their lives had been changed for the better. It makes everything we are pushing towards completely worth it.
